Thinking About The Mind On Happiness, Neurobiology, Love, Genetics, Religion, Anthropology, Evolution, Psychology & Sexuality…

Why thinking about the mind?

We live in incredible times. The amount of hard-scientific knowledge about how our mind works gathered through neurobiology and genetics is growing daily. At the same time the softer sciences of psychology, sociology, anthropology and history are making brave forays into rational discourse about religion, happiness, love and morality. Homo sapiens is approaching truly enlightened times where we are able to look at our own minds objectively. Where we see ourselves as the sophisticated animals that we are, not above and apart the rest of the animal kingdom but beautifully part of it. Our thoughts and feelings shaped by our neurobiology and evolution and shaping them in turn.

At the same time the internet is making accessible a huge amount of long thought-provoking lectures by our times most prominent thinkers, all available for free. In parallel the amazon.com revolution means that any book in print is available for quick purchase, just a click away.

The hard part with the internet today is filtering through all this information, this site is my humble selection of what I found most interesting.

Why one more blog?

The purpose of this site is to gather up interesting videos, books and articles. If it only manages to be my personal bookmarks list that's good enough. If you find something thought provoking by way of this site, all the work put into it will be rewarded.

Once in a while I throw in a bit of my own musings, this is meant as a personal exercise in writing, and not to be misinterpreted as a pompous attempt to elevate my ideas into the ranks of the esteemed thinkers whose videos, articles and books I present.
